War Department Vintage Desk

This Vintage War Dept desk complete with original stamp in a sorry state. 

A really useful piece of furniture as it is adult size, great to create a study nook in a smaller space.

The renovation included the following:

The lift up lid of the desk was full of woodworm so we crafted a new one from locally sourced Ash. The whole desk was sanded to remove the old worn finish and the body of the desk oiled to seal and protect the wood. The interior of the desk has been given a playful splash of colour (purple) and then sealed with lacquer.

The Mahogany coloured legs have been painted Black and lacquered to protect.

The original hinges have been cleaned and the old paint and rust removed, then undercoated before painting black to match the smart 'new' legs.
