Sewing table up-cycle
We have taken this tired sewing table originally purchased from David Morgan in Cardiff (a large independent department store) and have given it a new lease of life.
Here’s what we have done:
The old table top was a very large plywood circle that was too cumbersome for the piece causing some damage to one of the joints. We have rectified the damage and given her a brand new top of solid Ash of a more appropriate size, and some new hinges. Then we sanded down the whole piece and painted the base with a rich dark grey satin paint.
Removing the old fabric from the interior along with a copious amount of glue was a labour of love.
We used a new bright cotton fabric with Dacron beneath for a more sumptuous finish for the interior.
Business on the outside and party on the inside! 🙂
