Restored Ercol Plank Table

This hard working table came to us with a few knocks and scrapes typical for a 70 year old well loved table.

The clean lines and classic design has always appealed to me (we have the same design in our own home).

This particular table is one of the earliest Ercol plank tables circa 1950, dated by the fixings used at the time. 
We have taken the table right back to the wood and refinished with 3 coats of Osmo oil to the Elm top and 2 coats of oil for the Beech legs.

Each table has an individual grain pattern, this one has exceptionally beautiful grain. This classic design is still relevant today. The Elm top sits on splayed Beech legs and will seat six easily. This particular table has had feet added (possibly Bakerlite) manufactured by Armstrong Corporation of London. These give the table a little extra height and stability on uneven flooring along with making it truly unique.

An exceptional example of Ercol workmanship this solid wooden table is the perfect addition to any home it will make a perfect dining table or could be utilised as a large desk for those working from home.
